Last updated: 24 September 2026

Home Lay-By Plan (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you use this website, contact us or become a client. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Home Lay-By Plan works alongside Saviour Financial Services and its affiliated entities, including Deposit Saviour and Saviour Club. In this policy, “we” includes those entities where they help provide our services to you.

1. The information we collect

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number, email address and postal address.
  • Enquiry details: what you tell us in our consultation forms, such as your situation and what you are looking for.
  • Financial and personal circumstances: if you go ahead with a consultation or plan, information about your income, employment, expenses, assets, liabilities, identity and household, so we can assess and tailor a solution for you.
  • Identity and verification information: such as a driver’s licence or passport, where the law requires us to verify who you are.
  • Credit-related information: if a credit product is involved, information needed to assess your application, which may include information from credit reporting bodies.
  • Website usage information: your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, how you arrived at the site and how you interact with it (see section 6).

You can deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym for general enquiries, but we will need your real details to provide a consultation or any product.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you, for example when you complete a form on this website, call or email us, or meet with our team. With your consent, or where the law allows, we may also collect it from third parties such as credit reporting bodies, your employer, your accountant or other advisers, and our related entities.

If we receive personal information we did not ask for, we will destroy or de-identify it if we could not have collected it lawfully.

3. Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange your free consultation.
  • To assess your circumstances and design, provide and manage your Home Lay-By Plan.
  • To assess applications for credit or other financial products, where relevant.
  • To verify your identity and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
  • To communicate with you about your plan and our services.
  • To improve our website, services and customer experience.
  • To send you information about our products and services, if you have agreed to this (see section 8).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it, where needed for the purposes above, with:

  • our related and affiliated entities, including Saviour Financial Services, Deposit Saviour and Saviour Club;
  • lenders, credit providers and credit reporting bodies, where a credit product is involved;
  • professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers, valuers and conveyancers acting in your matter;
  • service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, customer relationship management, data storage and analytics providers;
  • government bodies, regulators, courts and law enforcement, where the law requires or permits it; and
  • anyone you authorise us to deal with on your behalf.

We require our service providers to keep your information confidential and to use it only to perform services for us.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, including the analytics and cloud providers described in section 6, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union and other countries where those providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Cookies, analytics and website tools

Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the site work and help us understand how it is used.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last and which devices are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, browser and interactions with the site. We use this in aggregate to improve the website; it does not tell us who you are. Google may process this data in accordance with its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website through heatmaps and session replays, which show how pages are scrolled and clicked. This helps us find and fix things that are hard to use. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to collect behavioural and usage data. Clarity is set to mask text you type into form fields, so we do not see the details you enter through session replays. For more information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Clarity privacy disclosure.

Advertising and remarketing

If we advertise online, for example through Google Ads or Meta (Facebook and Instagram), those platforms may use cookies or similar technologies to measure the results of our ads and to show you relevant ads on other websites. You can manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings.

Embedded content

Pages on this site may include content from other websites, such as videos or maps. That content behaves as if you had visited the other website, which may collect data about you under its own privacy policy.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the website may not work as intended.

7. Our contact forms

When you submit a form on this website, we receive the details you enter, the page you sent it from and the time it was sent. These are stored securely in our website system and emailed to our team so we can respond. We use simple automated checks to filter out spam submissions.

8. Direct marketing

We may send you information about our products and services if you have agreed to this, or where the law otherwise allows. Every marketing email or SMS we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below. We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth).

9. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include secure (encrypted) connections to this website, access controls, and trusted service providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy or as required by law, for example record-keeping obligations. After that, we securely destroy or de-identify it.

If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. There is no fee to make a request, although we may charge a reasonable cost for providing access in some cases. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.

11. Questions and complaints

If you have a question about this policy or a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us:

We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
